Cary Hou immigrated to the United States in 1990. A tour guide by profession, he also publishes writings about traveling. Because of his photographic memory and self-confidence in his abilities, Cary was lazy and proud when he was little. However, he finally did managed to graduate college and immediately found a stable job after some changes in life. Even though he was not involved in news, media, or mass communications while going through school, Cary did participate in China Television¡¦s news anchor search and made it through to the final round, beating a thousand contestants. During this time, he met his wife, Karen from Missouri. Together they made a union of people from different cultures. After three years of marriage, with encouragement from his mother-in-law and parents, Cary left his prestigious government job and a tutor side job and moved to the states with his wife to become a tour guide. From his book, it is not hard for readers to get a feel of Cary¡¦s persistence and growth in over ten years of hard work. Also one can enjoy Cary¡¦s timely and unique perspective, which thorough analysis, often falls into deep philosophical thoughts that carefully reviewed can bring delightful discoveries. Of course, his humor is sprinkled into the description of places he¡¦s traveled, and includes humorous anecdotes from the tours he led.
